Leadership Tip: Your Emotions Aren’t the Boss of You


Hey there, Reader,

Some conversations just push all our buttons.

You know the ones.

Your heart races. Your jaw tightens. Your brain starts writing a dramatic novel about what they meant when they said that.

But here's the good news:
🔹 Emotions don’t have to control you.

They’re data—not directives.

In challenging moments, it’s totally normal to feel frustrated, anxious, or even a little defensive. (You're human. Welcome to the club.)


The key is learning how to respond with intention instead of reacting out of instinct.

Here’s how to stay in the driver’s seat:

Pause before reacting. Deep breath = mental reset.

Focus on the facts. Feelings matter, but facts keep you grounded.

Watch your tone and body language. They’ll often do more talking than your words.

Reframe the moment. Ask: Is this really worth my energy?

🌟 Managing emotions isn’t about stuffing them down. It’s about stewarding them with wisdom.

And yes—you can absolutely get better at this with practice (and a little help from a coach who’s been there 😏).
